The “X Factor” singer was discovered at a gruesome crime scene, sending shockwaves through the country’s music industry.
Zair Guette, a Colombian singer, was found dead near his manager, Teddy Vergara Álvarez, who later succumbed to his injuries. The 25-year-old was kidnapped, tortured, and murdered on February 14 in Ginebra, a town in Valle del Cauca, Colombia.

Police officers have noted that Guette was murdered just after a concert in the village of Barranco Bajo. Witnesses to the tragic incident reported that armed men dragged the singer out of the concert venue under threats, subjected him to torture, and then shot him multiple times.
Guette and Álvarez were discovered in a brutal crime scene that has left the country music industry shocked and devastated. The singer was discovered with his hands and feet bound and a gag in place.
Forensic experts confirmed he had been tortured, sustaining deliberate injuries and multiple blows. The cause of death was identified as a gunshot to the head. Rubén Darío Gaitán Camelo, commander of the Buga District, said Álvarez, was also shot.
“The National Police of the municipality of Ginebra was alerted about the discovery of a person with gunshot wounds in the Barranco Alto district,” noted Camelo. Guette’s manager was rushed to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries hours later.
