Gillian Turner Talks About Working While Pregnant—The ‘Hardest’ Yet ‘Very Special’ Experience
Fox News anchor Gillian Turner is preparing to welcome her second child in just a few weeks, but her pregnancy has not slowed her down when it comes to her career.
Turner, who has been with Fox since 2014, has continued to appear on-air, recently opening up about the challenges and rewards of working while pregnant.
Turner, who is expecting a baby boy with her husband, entrepreneur Alex Kramer, shared her thoughts on balancing pregnancy with her demanding job during a resurfaced interview with fellow Fox News anchor Dana Perino.
Turner explained that despite the physical toll, working during her pregnancy has been incredibly rewarding.
“The best part for me has been working during my pregnancy and as a new mother,” Turner told Perino in December 2022, as she reflected on her first pregnancy with daughter Lucia Rose Kramer, who was 2.5 years old at the time.
Turner expressed how she never felt more supported or appreciated, especially by her colleagues and bosses.
She recalled the heartfelt messages, thoughtful gifts, and words of encouragement she received from both familiar faces and people she had never even met.
“It was very special,” she said, noting that the support she received throughout her pregnancy made the experience that much more meaningful.
Despite the challenges, including dealing with frequent sickness, Turner emphasized how isolated she never felt. “I was also very sick a lot of the time, and never felt judgment or disappointment from anyone,” she shared.
Turner attributed the positive experience to her supportive work environment. Despite the pandemic adding stress to the situation, she found herself energized by the care and empathy shown by those around her.
“Thanks to my wonderful bosses and colleagues, it was just the most exuberant working time of my life,” Turner explained. “Weird how the hardest is, in hindsight, the best.”
Her first daughter, Lucia, nicknamed Coco, was born in July 2021, and Turner is now set to welcome her second child next month. She announced her pregnancy with a lighthearted moment on The Five in August, revealing her baby’s gender by wearing a blue blazer.
Her co-workers, including Remy Numa and Lisa Boothe, quickly shared their congratulations and well wishes on social media, expressing excitement for Turner’s growing family.
Turner has been a frequent presence on Fox News even as her due date draws near, continuing her role as an anchor and the State Department and foreign policy correspondent.

A resurfaced interview between Turner and her fellow anchor Dana Perino revealed her experience while she was pregnant with her first daughter, Lucia Rose Kramer.
“The best part for me has been working during my pregnancy and as a new mother,” Turner told Perino last December.
Her daughter was two and a half years old at the time.
“I’ve never felt so valued, so supported or celebrated as I did by bosses and colleagues during that time,” she said.
“The words of wisdom and encouragement I received from everyone, including people I’d never met and still haven’t met face-to-face; the thoughtful presents people sent me; and all the emotional support was just totally unexpected.”
Turner said she didn’t feel isolated during her pregnancy, despite it coinciding with the pandemic.
“I was also very sick a lot of the time, and never felt judgment or disappointment from anyone,” she added.
She continued, “But thanks to my wonderful bosses and colleagues, it was just the most exuberant working time of my life (weird how the hardest is, in hindsight, the best).”
