Journalist who shared interview where Blake Lively was ‘rude’ to her speaks out amid Justin Baldoni lawsuit

The journalist who shared an interview where Blake Lively was ‘rude’ to her has spoken out amid the recent lawsuit.

The It Ends With Us actor has sued her co-star, Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment and alleged he tried to launch a ‘social manipulation’ campaign.

When the Colleen Hoover novel-based film landed in cinemas over the summer, rumours were rife of an off-set rift between the two stars.

And with speculation building over what had happened between the pair, all sorts of old drama also seemed to be dragged up – including a 2016 interview with Lively.

Norwegian reporter Kjersti Flaa shared a video of her chat with the Green Lantern actor and her Café Society co-star Parker Posey in 2016, captioning it: “The Blake Lively interview that made me want to quit my job.”

She told LADbible that part of why she’d decided to post it was because: “I think it’s about time that people behaving badly in Hollywood gets called out for it. It’s not okay, even if you are rich and famous.”

However, with the video going extremely viral over the summer, there are new ‘theories’ over just why Flaa posted it when she did.

Obtained by The New York Times (NYT), Lively’s lawsuit accuses Baldoni of trying to ‘destroy’ her reputation (while his lawyer says her team tried to ‘plant false stories with media’). And the NYT’s report lays out how Baldoni’s team allegedly carried out a ‘smear campaign’, noting a link to Flaa.

The actor had hired crisis management expert, Melissa Nathan, who allegedly said she had spoken to an editor when his team wrote to her: “I’m having reckless thoughts of wanting to plant pieces this week of how horrible Blake is to work with.”

The NYT report says of Flaa: “It wasn’t the first time she had posted a video aligned with a client of Ms. Nathan. In 2022, in the midst of Mr. Depp’s legal battle with Ms. Heard, Ms. Flaa posted clips of her interviews with the actor, tagged #JusticeForJohnnyDepp.”

But Flaa is slamming these theories as speculation builds, taking to various social media and writing on Instagram: “Just wanted to put it out there. I have nothing to do with Justin Baldoni and his smear campaign against Blake Lively that was reported on by The New York Times today. There are conspiracy theories out there accusing me of being paid by his PR team to help with their smear campaign. None of this is true.”

She said in a clip that she has ‘nothing to do with’ the ‘dirty work’ that had been ‘going on behind the scenes’.

Flaa added: “When I read the text messages that was going back and forth between Justin Baldoni’s PR team, I was as shocked and appalled like everyone else, and I would never be take part in anything like that. That’s such an insult to me.”

During her near-10 minute video on this, she says she has ‘never met’ Baldoni and ‘actually didn’t know he existed’ before this movie.

Baldoni’s lawyer has slammed Lively’s lawsuit, telling Variety it is full of ‘categorically false accusations’.

Lively told the NYT in a statement: “I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted.”

Justin Baldoni’s lawyer has accused Blake Lively of having ‘false stories planted with the media’.

This comes after the Green Lantern actor filed a lawsuit against the actor and director.

The pair starred alongside each other in the summer release, It Ends With Us. And building up to the film landing in cinemas, rumours circulated of an on-set rift between them.

That now seems to have been somewhat validated as Lively has sued Baldoni for sexual harassment and alleging he attempted a ‘social manipulation’ campaign against her.

Obtained by the New York Times, the legal complaint alleges his behaviour caused ‘severe emotional distress’ for both Lively and her family.

Allegations in the suit include the star demanding Baldoni didn’t add any more ‘sex scenes, oral sex or on camera climaxing’ to the film outside of what was in the script she had initially approved.

A meeting reportedly held was also attended by her husband Ryan Reynolds, as various claims and demands from Lively were addressed. These allegedly included: “No more showing nude videos or images of women to Blake,” and “No more discussions about sexual conquests in front of Blake and others.”

Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, told Variety the suit is full of ‘categorically false accusations’ as it also claims the star mounted a smear campaign to ‘destroy’ Lively’s reputation.

The legal rep slammed the ‘shameful’ complaint and accused her of making a ‘desperate attempt to fix her negative reputation’.

His statement said: “It is shameful that Ms. Lively and her representatives would make such serious and categorically false accusations against Mr. Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and its representatives, as yet another desperate attempt to ‘fix’ her negative reputation which was garnered from her own remarks and actions during the campaign for the film; interviews and press activities that were observed publicly, in real time and unedited, which allowed for the internet to generate their own views and opinions.

“These claims are completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt and rehash a narrative in the media. Wayfarer Studios made the decision to proactively hire a crisis manager prior to the marketing campaign of the film, to work alongside their own representative with Jonesworks employed by Stephanie Jones, due to the multiple demands and threats made by Ms. Lively during production which included her threatening to not showing up to set, threatening to not promote the film, ultimately leading to its demise during release, if her demands were not met.

“It was also discovered that Ms. Lively enlisted her own representative, Leslie Sloan with Vision PR, who also represents Mr. Reynolds, to plant negative and completely fabricated and false stories with media, even prior to any marketing had commenced for the film, which was another reason why Wayfarer Studios made the decision to hire a crisis professional to commence internal scenario planning in the case they needed to address.”

The statement concluded: “The representatives of Wayfarer Studios still did nothing proactive nor retaliated, and only responded to incoming media inquiries to ensure balanced and factual reporting and monitored social activity. What is pointedly missing from the cherry-picked correspondence is the evidence that there were no proactive measures taken with media or otherwise; just internal scenario planning and private correspondence to strategize which is standard operating procedure with public relations professionals.”

Lively told The New York Times in a statement: “I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted.”

The star also denied that she or any of her representatives planted or spread negative information about Baldoni or Wayfarer.

Blake Lively has sued her It Ends With Us co-star for sexual harassment and alleging he attempted a ‘social manipulation’ campaign.

It’s fair to say the summer film release was tainted by off-screen drama with rumours circulating of a rift between the actor and her director and co-star, Justin Baldoni.

Based on the 2016 novel by Colleen Hoover, the romantic drama landed in cinemas back in August, with fans noticing the pair were not doing much press together.

And now Lively has filed a lawsuit (obtained by the New York Times), alleging Baldoni attempted to mount a smear campaign against her, adding the claim his behaviour caused ‘severe emotional distress’ for both her family and her.

Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, told Variety the suit is full of ‘categorically false accusations’.

The legal complaint claims a meeting was held during production to address Lively’s claims and demands for working on It Ends With Us, reportedly with her husband Ryan Reynolds, in attendance.

Allegedly, some of these demands addressed included: “No more showing nude videos or images of women to Blake, no more mention of Baldoni’s alleged previous ‘pornography addiction,’ no more discussions about sexual conquests in front of Blake and others, no further mentions of cast and crew’s genitalia, no more inquiries about Blake’s weight, and no further mention of Blake’s dead father.”

The star also allegedly demanded Baldoni didn’t add any more ‘sex scenes, oral sex or on camera climaxing’ to the film outside of what was in the script she had approved prior to filming.

Sony Pictures reportedly approved the requests according to the legal complaint.

But as well as alleging these demands she made, it accuses Baldoni of ‘social manipulation’ with a campaign aiming to ‘destroy’ Lively’s reputation once filming was done.

In a rather ironic turn of events, a resurfaced clip of James Corden branding Pierce Brosnan ‘f***ing rude’ has been doing the rounds on social media.

Unless you’ve been living off-grid for the past week, you will have heard of the drama between the Gavin and Stacey star and a NY restaurant named Balthazar.

Earlier this month, the owner of the eatery, Keith McNally, banned Corden and called him a ‘tiny cretin of a man’ over his alleged treatment of staff members.

Keith later said the talk show host called him and ‘apologised profusely’ and he has since revoked the ban, but people are still sharing stories about Corden online.

One of those is a throwback to an episode of The Late Late Show in which the 44-year-old actor invited Khloe Kardashian to the show.

During the ‘Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts’ truth or dare segment, Corden was asked by the reality TV star to name a celebrity who had been rude to him at a party.

Though he was hesitant to answer the question, the alternative option was to drink a glass of bird saliva and so he decided to reveal all.

“There was someone,” he said, before admitting that they might want to book them on the show in the near future.

Eventually he spills the beans, claiming it was James Bond star Pierce Brosnan.

Corden said: “I don’t think he’s a rude man, he just happened to be [to me]. I went to see U2 and I was there with my friend Louis and his wife, and my wife, and Pierce Brosnan was with some friends.

“They left halfway through the gig to go off, and we left the space [for them]. And then they had been gone quite a long time and Bono was like right there on this sort of big runway in the middle of the show – it was at The Forum.

“So me and my wife moved into this area, and literally, I’ve never felt anything like it, this arm went on here and just pushed me out the way.

“And I looked at him and he didn’t even glance at me, he just moved back into his area.”

Khloe chimed in to suggest, “Maybe he was drunk,” to which Corden said, “Maybe he’s just a bit f***ing rude.”

The comedian labelled Pierce Brosnan 'f***ing rude'.

Speaking of which, the comedian finally admitted he was ‘rude’ to staff members at Balthazar in a lengthy explanation on The Late Late Show.

“Because I didn’t shout, or scream – I didn’t get up out of my seat, I didn’t call anyone names or use derogatory language – I’ve been walking around thinking I hadn’t done anything wrong,” he said.

“But the truth is I have. I made a rude comment, and it was wrong. It was an unnecessary comment. It was ungracious to the server.”

Although he claimed it was a ‘heat of the moment’ reaction after his wife was allegedly served food she’s allergic to, workers have since said he’d ordered an omelette that wasn’t on the menu – then kicked off when it wasn’t to his liking.

“I’m sorry but that is bulls**t,” one server, who declined to be named, told the Daily Mail. “He wanted an omelette that had only egg yolks. Not the egg-white omelette, just egg yolks.

Staff at the New York City restaurant Balthazar say their opinion of Corden hasn't changed.

“Why then would you even bother ordering an omelette if you’re allergic to eggs?”

Staff claimed the egg allergy was just an excuse, with barman George adding: “We deal with that kind of behaviour from people all the time. But he… he was very, very rude.”
